Rev. Raymond L. Crews

	Rev. Raymond L. Crews, 80, of McLeansboro, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2001 at 11:25 a.m. at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.
	Rev. Crews was at retired minister serving Mt. Olivet Church for 22 years.  He had also worked at Braden Valley Church for six years and at Plainview Church for four years.  He was also a grocery store manager at Kroger in Elkville, Sesser and Ridgeway; Bracy Stores in Sesser and Marion and Big Johns Stores in Carmi and McLeansboro.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II, serving from 1944-46.  He was a member of Olivet Baptist Church and Ministerial Alliance.
	 He was born October 16, 1920 at Hallidayboro, the son of Armsted and Golda (Reese) Crews.  He married Martha Wheeler on April 29, 1939 and she survives.
	Also surviving are two sons, Gary (Betty) Crews of Morgantown, Ind. and Larry (Jan) Crews of Paducah, Kentucky; daughter, Mrs. Carol (Richard) Daniels of Salem; a sister, Mrs. Blanche Schwinn of DuQuoin; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
	Funeral services were Sunday, January 21 at 2 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Rev. Robert Sefried officiating.  Interment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery at McLeansboro.
	Visitation was Saturday at Gholson Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m.
